Special application bearings

Backing bearing
Product Introduction
JOJI backing bearings are available in a variety of designs and variations. The main types are double-row or triple-row cylindrical roller bearings. Single-row needle roller bearings and double-row tapered roller bearings are also available.
Backing bearings were specifically developed for multi-roll cold rolling mills, but can also be used in other applications, such as straightening or bending machines. These bearings have a particularly thick outer ring and can be mounted on fixed support shafts to form backup or straightening rolls. Figure 1 shows the backing bearing arrangement on the eight support shafts of a 20-roll mill.

Motor encoder unit
Product Introduction
In many applications, being able to accurately monitor the status of rotating components is crucial. This is especially true for AC motors, which require encoders to continuously monitor speed and direction of rotation.
Roller encoder unit
Product Introduction
The JOJI Roller Encoder Bearing Unit is a plug-and-play sensor bearing unit designed for applications where the outer ring rotates.
Steering encoder unit
Product Introduction
The JOJI steering encoder unit is a steering input device for steer-by-wire systems that combines the reliability of encoder technology with the simplicity of a plug-and-play component package.
Rotor Position Sensor Bearing Unit
Product Introduction
Synchronous motors require sensors that can accurately position the rotor to precisely control motor torque and achieve optimal efficiency and dynamic performance. These motors use either direct drive control or sinusoidal control. JOJI rotor position sensor bearing units help optimize motor efficiency with both systems.
Rotor locating bearing
Product Introduction
JOJI rotor positioning bearings are custom-designed units with optimized mechanical integration between the magnetic pulse ring and the bearing. This integrated unit:
  • Can be used with nearly all bearing types
  • Permits high speeds and high temperatures
  • Generates strong magnetic pulses related to the rotor's angular position
  • Can transmit magnetic fields in axial or radial directions on straight shafts or at shaft ends
  • The high magnetic field strength makes it highly reliable even under harsh operating conditions
Deep groove ball bearings
Product Introduction
Deep groove ball bearings are the most widely used bearing type, particularly in electric motor applications. JOJI hybrid ceramic deep groove ball bearings:
  • They are non-separable
  • Suitable for high-speed applications
  • They can accommodate radial and axial loads in both directions because their uninterrupted raceway provides close contact with the balls.
  • Bore diameters range from 5 to 180 mm
  • Bearings with a bore diameter of 45 mm or less meet the needs of applications such as electric motors, power tools, and high-speed drives with power ranging from 0.15 to 15 kW.
  • SKF hybrid deep groove ball bearings in this size range offer the most cost-effective solution for preventing galvanic corrosion.
Cylindrical roller bearings
Product Introduction
  • Separability
  • Suitable for high-speed applications
  • Can withstand heavy radial loads
  • Allows radial displacement
  • Commonly used in electric motors (especially traction motors) and applications operating under extreme operating conditions
Deep groove ball bearings
Product Introduction
Motors, generators, and related equipment are at risk when current flows through bearings. This not only damages the contact surfaces of the rolling elements and raceways within the bearings (galvanic corrosion), but also rapidly degrades the lubricant. An additional risk arises from the high-frequency currents in motors and generators, which can form loops through the equipment's inherent stray capacitance. The risk of damage is increased when frequency converters are used.
INSOCOAT insulated bearings are designed to prevent the flow of electrical current through the bearing. The outer surface of the inner or outer ring is coated with an insulating aluminum oxide layer using a complex plasma spraying process to achieve an exceptionally high-quality surface finish. This solution is highly cost-effective compared to other insulation methods.

NoWear never-wear coated bearings
Product Introduction
NoWear coating is a wear-resistant carbon coating. NoWear coating can be applied to the rolling elements and inner ring raceway of bearings (designation suffix L7DA) or only to the rolling elements (designation suffix L5DA).
NoWear coating applies a wear-resistant carbon coating to the bearing surface using a physical vapor deposition (PVD) process. The coating thickness ranges from 1 to 3 μm, depending on the bearing size. The coating has a hardness of 1,200 HV10.
The coating of NoWear bearings increases the surface hardness, friction and wear resistance while retaining the toughness of the base material.
A small amount of coating material is transferred to the mating surfaces during the running-in period. Even if only the rolling elements of the bearing are coated, the coating can reduce friction and improve resistance to wear and adhesive wear.
Solid oil bearings
Product Introduction
JOJI Solid Oil bearings are designed for applications with high humidity and occasional contact with water and other contaminants. Bearings using Solid Oil are lubricated for life and cannot be relubricated.

Solid Oil:
  • A polymer material is molded into the bearing. The polymer absorbs saturated lubricant and forms small gaps around the rolling elements, cage, and raceways, allowing the bearing to rotate freely.
  • The polymer material in Solid Oil has a porous structure with millions of microscopic pores, which lock the lubricant within the polymer material through surface tension.
  • This fills nearly all free space within the bearing.
  • During operation, the lubricant is released into the smallest gaps, providing effective minimal lubrication.
Sintering trolley pulley bearings
Product Introduction
JOJI support roller units are based on double-row or four-row full complement cylindrical roller bearings.
They have been developed for use in continuous sintering furnaces. These ready-to-install units are also suitable for heavy-duty applications with frequent changes in direction of rotation or low speeds.
