Radial spherical plain bearings consist of an inner ring with a convex spherical outer surface and an outer ring with a corresponding concave spherical inner surface. This design is particularly suitable for bearing arrangements that must accommodate misalignment between the shaft and the housing, or must be capable of reciprocating oscillating or periodic tilting or rotating motion at relatively slow sliding speeds, often under heavy loads.
JOJI offers a wide range of radial spherical plain bearings with various sliding contact surface combinations.

Radial spherical plain bearings requiring maintenance
Maintenance-Free Radial Spherical Plain Bearings
Angular contact spherical plain bearings are spherical and tilted at a certain angle to the bearing axis. This design makes them particularly suitable for carrying combined radial and axial loads. A single angular contact spherical plain bearing can only support axial loads in one direction and is separable, allowing the rings to be installed separately.
JOJI manufactures maintenance-free GAC series single-acting angular contact spherical plain bearings with a steel-on-PTFE fiber-reinforced nylon sliding contact surface. Other designs and series are available upon request.
Spherical plain thrust bearings have a convex spherical surface on the shaft washer and a corresponding concave spherical surface in the housing washer. These bearings are primarily suitable for axial loads, but can also accommodate combined axial and radial loads. The radial component of the combined load should not exceed 50% of the axial component. If radial loads are significant, thrust bearings should be combined with radial bearings in the GE size series.
Spherical sliding thrust bearings are separable, that is, the shaft ring and seat ring can be installed separately.
JOJI manufactures standard spherical plain thrust bearings in the maintenance-free GX series, featuring a steel-on-PTFE fiber-reinforced nylon sliding contact surface. Other designs and series are available on request.
Rod ends consist of a hollow top with an integral shank, forming the rod end housing for a spherical plain bearing. They are primarily used at both ends of hydraulic or pneumatic pistons, connecting cylinders to related components.
JOJI offers a wide range of standard rod ends, with rod end housings featuring various thread and shank designs for easy installation. A variety of sliding contact surface combinations make rod ends suitable for a wide range of operating conditions.
Upon request, JOJI can also produce rod ends in the JOJI Explorer steel-on-steel design (designation suffix ESX).
