Bidirectional thrust ball bearings with spherical seats can withstand axial loads in both directions, but they cannot withstand any radial loads. Most parts are interchangeable. These bearings can be used in conjunction with spherical seat washers in the vicinity of the seat ring or in the vicinity of machine parts with machined spherical surfaces. The bore of the collar is ground to provide an interference fit with the shaft.
