Temperature deviations can occur due to heat generated by problems in rotating equipment. These problems can be related to problems with bearings, seals, and alignment failures. Other causes may be process flow variations, valve failures, electrical contacts or flying arc problems.
These defects can be effectively localised by a thermal imaging camera, allowing you to take corrective action before a costly failure occurs. Thermal imaging is therefore a good complement to methods such as vibration analysis or other machine health management methods.
The results of thermal imaging are recorded in a colour image with a temperature scale, the so-called thermal image. The thermal image is provided in a written report together with the appropriate corrective actions.
